Systems Administrator Job Description The analyst will primarily be responsible for desktop support, network support, server administration, and telephony systems support for the Jacksonville Service Center. Additionally, the analyst will work with other team members to support the FSV core processing data centers. Candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must have the ability to implement process and procedures with the end result of keeping FSV systems and associates up 100% of the time. They must have experience working in a fast pace business environment and possess the skill to formulate technology solutions in advance of needs. Must be able to work occasional off hours when the need arises.
Responsibilities
- Manages servers in a Window server 2003 Active Directory environment, ensuring that each server has 100% uptime
- Troubleshoots problems with networks, Internet and e-mailing services
- Maintain a broad knowledge of operating systems, programming languages and hardware
- Manages back-up services across the enterprise
- Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices
- May lead or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions
- Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings
- Coordinate with development team to schedule releases of software updates
Required Experience
- 2-3 years experience in Systems Administration
- 1-2 years experience in configuring and support Cisco switches and firewalls
- Knowledge of TCP/IP stacks and their functionality
- Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2003, Linux (Red Hat)
- Advanced knowledge of Internet Information Services 5.x and 6.0
- Knowledge and troubleshooting of Exchange 2003
- Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of MS SQL Server 2005
- Minimum knowledge and troubleshooting of Visual Basic Script
- Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures
- Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
- Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels or the organization
